Google Creative Fellowship in the U.S.: A Unique Opportunity for Emerging Creatives

The Google Creative Fellowship is a prestigious 6-month program designed to provide emerging creative talents with hands-on experience across Google’s in-house creative teams. This fellowship places selected individuals in dedicated creative departments where they can work on real-world projects, gaining exposure to some of the most innovative and impactful work at Google. With a strong emphasis on a “maker-first” approach, this program nurtures fresh perspectives and fosters a dynamic network of creative professionals.


What to Expect from the Google Creative Fellowship

Real-World Projects

Each Creative Fellow will be assigned to a specific Google creative team, collaborating on actual projects under expert mentorship. The experience varies by team, but past Fellows have contributed to high-impact projects in the following departments:

  • Brand Studio – Focuses on brand storytelling through films, ad campaigns, and interactive experiences.

  • Creative Lab – Specializes in innovation, bringing Google’s technology to life through interactive prototypes and creative storytelling.

  • Google Cloud Brand & Creative – Simplifies complex cloud technology with engaging and human-centered brand campaigns.

  • YouTube Creative Studio – Develops attention-grabbing creative content that enhances YouTube’s brand identity, focusing on Shorts, Subscriptions, and Creators.


Available Roles for 2025

The Google Creative Fellowship 2025 will take place in the United States, requiring applicants to have U.S. work authorization. Below are the available roles:

Brand Studio (Locations: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR)

  • Producer: Manages brand productions across multiple mediums, including social, film, broadcast, interactive, and print.

Creative Lab (Location: New York, NY)

  • Creative Technologist: Prototyping interactive demos and experimenting with AI and new technologies.

  • Visual Designer: Creating engaging visual assets that communicate Google’s innovative ideas.

Google Cloud Brand & Creative (Location: San Francisco, CA)

  • Designer: Works on brand identities, interactive experiences, and design campaigns for Google Cloud.

YouTube Creative Studio (Location: New York, NY)

  • Social Creative: Develops social-first campaigns and content, leveraging current trends and digital storytelling.


Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the Google Creative Fellowship 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have work authorization in the U.S. (Google does not provide visa sponsorship).

  • Must be of legal working age in the U.S. as of June 2025.

  • Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Must reside in the city where they are applying.

  • Must be available for full-time work from mid-June 2025 to mid-December 2025.

  • Employment will be as a freelancer through Google’s staffing partners.
