Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the WMI Scholars Program 2025:

  • Must be 35 years old or younger as of August 1, 2025

  • Have completed or be in the final year of secondary education with above-average academic performance

  • Be applying for or currently enrolled in their first undergraduate degree

  • Must study in their home country or another developing country

  • Plan to reside and work in their home country after graduation

  • Have participated in volunteer or community service activities

  • Require financial assistance but have some available funding

  • Family members of WMI staff and scholars are ineligible

  • Students intending to study in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, or Western Europe do not qualify


Required Documents

Candidates must prepare and submit the following documents:

  • Completed WMI application form for 2025

  • Recent passport-sized photograph

  • Personal essay statement (as per application guidelines)

  • Two recommendation letters on official letterhead

  • Official transcripts from secondary school

  • Official grading key to interpret secondary school grades

  • Official transcripts from tertiary studies (if applicable)
