The Department of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine is inviting applications for the prestigious Cornell NYC AI for Medical Imaging (AIMI) Fellowship. This unique opportunity is open to researchers specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) for medical imaging. Applications submitted by March 15, 2025, will be given full consideration.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field earned between September 1, 2023, and September 1, 2025.
Demonstrate a strong research record in AI for medical imaging, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in leading conferences (e.g., MICCAI, MIDL) and journals (e.g., MEDIA, MELBA, IEEE TMI).
The Cornell AIMI Fellowship is a prestigious three-year independent research position based at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. Fellows will receive mentorship from Cornell faculty, covering key areas such as research strategy, fundraising, student and trainee recruitment, and overall career development.
Fellows will have the autonomy to shape their own research agenda while benefiting from the extensive resources and collaborative environment at Weill Cornell Medicine and Cornell Tech. The fellowship is structured to serve as a springboard for a research career, including potential pathways to tenure-track faculty positions.
Salary: $75,000 - $103,000 per year, plus benefits.
Supplemental Funding: Fellows can secure up to two additional months of external research funding.
Benefits: Comprehensive faculty-level benefits, including health insurance and retirement contributions.
Research Support: $20,000 annually in discretionary research funds.
The salary range aligns with New York City’s Salary Transparency Law and reflects a reasonable estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting.
