Are you a scholar researching migration politics? Do you have innovative ideas that challenge conventional perspectives in Migration Studies? The Migration Politics Journal invites you to apply for its Author Fellowship in Residence, a unique one-week residency in Amsterdam designed to support scholars in developing their research into publishable manuscripts.
The editorial team at Migration Politics seeks scholars conducting groundbreaking research on how migration is represented, controlled, and managed. This program encourages fresh theoretical perspectives, conceptual contributions, and high methodological transparency. The fellowship is open to PhD holders at all career stages as well as current PhD candidates.
Selected fellows will spend one intensive week in residence developing their ideas into manuscripts ready for submission to Migration Politics Journal, which offers platinum open access (no article processing charges) and a rigorous single-blind peer review process. The program will be hosted in Amsterdam in October or November 2025, with participation from members of the Amsterdam Research Centre for Migration (ARC-M) and Senior Editorial Fellows Saskia Bonjour, Evelyn Ersanilli, and Darshan Vigneswaran.
To be considered, applicants must submit a paper proposal (1,000–1,500 words) by 15 March 2025 (end of day, wherever you are) through the designated form. Your proposal should include:
Core Question/Thesis: The central argument or research question of your paper.
