To be eligible for the UCL India Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:
Be permanently domiciled in India.
Be liable to pay the Overseas fee rate.
Hold or be completing a bachelor’s degree from an institution ranked in the Top 100 of India’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
Achieve a GPA equivalent to a UK first-class degree.
Have submitted a complete admission application (including references) for a full-time Master’s degree at UCL for the 2025/26 academic year by 5pm BST, Thursday 27 February 2025.
Be enrolling in-person at UCL (distance-learning programmes are not eligible).
Number of Awards: Up to 33 scholarships will be granted for the 2025/26 academic year.
Scholarship Amount: Each recipient will receive £5,000.
Duration: The scholarship is valid for one year unless the Master’s programme is two years long, in which case the amount is split equally across both years.
Payment Structure: Funds are first applied towards tuition fees, with any remainder disbursed in three equal instalments for maintenance throughout the year.
The UCL India Excellence Scholarship is awarded based on academic merit. The selection process includes:
Shortlisting applicants based on their bachelor’s degree GPA and the NIRF ranking of their institution.
Consideration only for candidates who have received a conditional or unconditional offer for a postgraduate taught programme at UCL.
Final selection by a panel of UCL faculty members.
Interested candidates must first apply for an eligible postgraduate programme at UCL.
A complete application, including references, must be submitted by 5pm BST, Thursday 27 February 2025.
No separate scholarship application is required.
All eligible applicants are automatically considered based on their admission application.
Shortlisting is based on academic excellence and institutional ranking.
