University College London (UCL) is one of the world’s leading institutions, consistently ranked among the top universities for academic excellence and research. To support outstanding students from India, UCL offers the UCL India Excellence Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to Indian students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK. This scholarship not only helps ease the financial burden but also offers students an opportunity to experience a world-class education in a diverse and global academic environment.


Benefits

  • The value of the bursary is £5,000. 
  • The scholarship is tenable for one year unless the full-time programme is 2yrs in length. The scholarship will be paid 50% of each year in that case.
  • The UCL India Excellence Scholarship may be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards, or bursaries. The amount of the UCL award may be adjusted depending on the total value of other funds received by the student.
  • Scholarship recipients must inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies before or after the UCL India Excellence Scholarship is awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be Indian nationals residing in India at the time of application.
  • have a bachelor’s degree, or be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, from an institution listed in the Top 100 of the Government of India’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)
  • They should have been accepted into a full-time master's program at UCL for the academic year in question.
  • Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence in their prior qualifications.
    • Have a GPA in their bachelor’s degree that is equivalent to a UK first-class degree;
  • Submission of a complete admission application for a full-time Master’s degree at UCL in 2024/25 by February 29, 2024.

Number of Scholarships:

UCL typically offers a limited number of these scholarships each year, making it a highly competitive award. The exact number of scholarships available may vary from year to year.

  • Up to 33 (thirty-three) scholarships available in 2024/25. 

Application Process

  • Submit a complete admission application to UCL, including references.
  • Applicants will be considered automatically based on their application for admission to their programme of study.
  • No separate application form is required.
  • Application deadline: February 29, 2024.
