The BI Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious award designed to support top-performing students from Norway and around the globe. This scholarship aims to nurture academic excellence and foster leadership skills by providing substantial financial assistance to eligible candidates pursuing Master of Science programs at BI Norwegian Business School.


Scholarship Benefits

  • Norwegian and International Applicants (Residents of Norway):

    • Full tuition coverage for each semester, up to two years.

    • Scholarship renewal contingent upon meeting academic progression requirements.

  • Sivøk Applicants:

    • Full tuition coverage for each semester, up to two years.

    • Scholarship renewal contingent upon meeting academic progression requirements.

  • International Applicants:

    • Full tuition coverage for up to two years.

    • A stipend for living expenses amounting to NOK 50,000 per semester.

    • Scholarship renewal contingent upon meeting academic progression requirements.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the BI Presidential Scholarship, candidates must:

  1. Academic Excellence: Achieve a minimum overall GPA of ‘A’ on the ECTS scale or its equivalent on international grade scales.

  2. Residency Status:

    • Be Norwegian or international citizens.

    • International candidates with a bachelor’s degree completed in Norway are considered Norwegian residents for this scholarship.

  3. Program Enrollment:

    • Be admitted to the first year of a Master of Science degree program at BI’s Oslo or Bergen campuses (excluding the BI-Luiss Joint Master in Marketing).

  4. Sivøk Students:

    • Be in their 3rd year of the Sivøkonom program.


Application Process

General Applicants:

  1. Online Application: Apply for the scholarship simultaneously with your admission application on BI’s online portal.

  2. Documentation Upload: Include the following:

    • CV/Resume.

    • Scholarship application letter (maximum one page), detailing why you deserve the scholarship.

    • Required documents for Master of Science program admission.

  3. Submission: Upload the scholarship application to the designated ‘Scholarship’ section on the portal.

Sivøk 3rd Year Students:

  1. Email Submission: Send your CV and scholarship application letter to info@bi.no.

  2. Subject Line: Use “BI Presidential Scholarship Application.”

Important Notes:

  • Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, not financial need.

  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Applicants must accept their offer of admission while awaiting scholarship decisions.

  • Scholarship offers will be communicated separately from admission offers.

  • Decisions are final and cannot be appealed.


Application Deadline

  • General Applicants: March 1

  • Sivøk Students: Spring of their 3rd year


Additional Considerations

International applicants for the BI Presidential Scholarship will also be considered for the MSc International Scholarship. A separate application is not required for this.


Final Decisions

  • Scholarship offers are distributed throughout the admission cycle.

  • Selected candidates must accept their scholarship offers by the specified deadline.

  • All scholarship decisions will be finalized by the end of April (exceptions apply for specific scholarships).

  • Notifications regarding the outcome will be sent to all applicants by the end of April.
