Charles Darwin University (CDU) offers Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships for international students with outstanding academic performance. These scholarships are designed to help students pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees while significantly reducing the financial burden of their studies. What You'll Receive

The scholarship provides 50% of the tuition fee for the full duration of your undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. This means substantial savings on tuition costs, allowing you to focus on your studies.

Note:

  • The scholarship is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • It cannot be transferred to another person, semester, course, or year.

Scholarship Application Dates

  • S1 2024 (First Semester): Applications open now; the deadline is 13 January 2024 (11:59 PM ACST).
  • S2 2024 (Second Semester): Applications open; the deadline is 13 June 2024 (11:59 PM ACST).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Apply to commence study in S1 or S2 2024 (the intake they are offered first).
  2. Meet the university's academic and English language entry requirements for their chosen course.
  3. Have a minimum overall score of 95% in their highest completed qualification.
  4. Be an international student paying international student fees.
  5. Not hold another scholarship from any Australian or foreign sponsoring agency.

Selection Criteria

Selection for the scholarship is based on:

  • Academic Achievement: The overall score in your highest completed qualification.
  • Supporting Statement: A statement (up to 600 words) explaining why you should be awarded the scholarship. This is your chance to showcase your passion for the course and how this scholarship will help you achieve your academic and career goals.

Duration of the Scholarship

The scholarship duration is equal to the minimum time required to complete your course. The scholarship will end when:

  • The maximum scholarship value has been exhausted.
  • You have completed your course.
  • You no longer meet the ongoing eligibility requirements.

Ongoing Eligibility

To maintain the scholarship, recipients must:

  1. Remain an international student liable for international student fees.
  2. Pay their portion of the tuition fees on or before the payment due date (first day of teaching) each semester.
  3. Maintain satisfactory academic progress with a minimum GPA of 5.3 each semester, with no failing grades.
  4. Maintain full-time enrolment of 40 credit points (0.5 EFTSL) each semester, or get approval to reduce their study load or take a leave of absence.
