Eligibility Criteria for the Macquarie University Scholarship

To qualify for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Language Requirement: English
  • Eligible Countries: All countries except Australia and New Zealand.
  • Academic Requirements:
    • For Postgraduate applications, a minimum WAM (Weighted Average Mark) equivalent of 65 is required.
    • For Undergraduate applications, a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 is required.
  • Acceptance into a Degree: Applicants must be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree starting in 2025 or 2026.
  • Full-Time Enrollment: Applicants must maintain full-time enrollment (8 standard units per academic year) throughout the duration of their course.
  • No Deferral: Scholarship recipients cannot defer their admission.
  • Academic Progression: Students must comply with the university’s Academic Progression Policy.
  • On-Campus Study: This scholarship is only available for on-campus study.
  • Exclusions:
    • Students receiving any other Macquarie University scholarship are not eligible for this award.
    • Students enrolled at Macquarie University International College are not eligible.
    • Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents are not eligible.

Application Process

To apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. Submit an Online Course Application: Complete your course application to receive a Macquarie University Student Number.
  2. Online Scholarship Application: After receiving your student number, submit the online scholarship application form. Make sure to type “VCIS” in the Scholarship Name field.

This scholarship is always open. There is no deadline.
