The Mastercard Foundation, in collaboration with the American University of Beirut (AUB), is offering fully funded scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year. This prestigious program supports young leaders in gaining quality education and equips them with the skills and experiences necessary to create a lasting positive impact.


About the Program

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at AUB aims to nurture visionary leaders and change agents. Beyond earning degrees, scholars participate in transformative workshops, fieldwork, and leadership development activities to enhance their professional and personal growth.


Comprehensive Financial Support

The $9 million initiative ensures scholars receive full support, including:

  • Full tuition coverage
  • Accommodation and living expenses
  • Books and a computer
  • Medical insurance
  • Preparatory courses (if required)

Scholarships for On-Campus Graduate Programs

  • Scholarships are available for the following online master’s programs:

  • Master’s in Engineering Management
  • Master’s in Computing in Education
  • Master’s in Business Administration
  • Master in Nursing Administration and Management
  • Executive Master in Healthcare Leadership

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master’s Scholarships: Open to nationals of African countries, Lebanese citizens, and refugees residing in Lebanon or Africa.
  • PhD Scholarships: Open to nationals of African countries and refugees living in Africa.

Selection Criteria

  • Academic excellence in previous studies
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Leadership potential and community involvement
  • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or DUOLINGO English Test) by May 30, 2025
  • Applicants must be 35 years or younger

Application Process

  1. Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload all required documents by May 16, 2025.
  2. Select the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under "Financial Opportunities" in the application.
  3. Submit the AUB Financial Aid Application (available 1–3 days after submitting your graduate application).

Additional Requirements

  • Similar eligibility and selection criteria as on-campus scholarships.
  • Submit proof of English proficiency by June 20, 2025.
