The ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship offers a comprehensive support package, which includes:
- Tuition Fee Sponsorship: Full coverage of the tuition fees for your PhD or Integrated PhD program.
- Stipend: A generous stipend of $28,600 per annum, paid fortnightly via electronic funds transfer, to cover living expenses.
- Relocation Allowance: Applicable if you are moving from overseas.
- Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC): For international students, this health cover is provided.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Required Language: Proficiency in English.
- Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all around the world.
- Conditional Requirements:
- You must have received an unconditional offer to join a higher degree by PhD or Integrated PhD research course at ECU.
- You should be available to begin your studies on campus by 1 October 2024.
Ineligible Candidates: You are not eligible for this scholarship if:
- You have completed an Australian Research Doctorate Degree or an equivalent.
- You received an Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) or an Australia Award Scholarship within the last two years.
- You have commenced the Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated) J42 after Semester 1, 2024.
- You are receiving a stipend scholarship income greater than 75% of the base stipend rate.
Application Process
The application process for the ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship involves the following steps:

Note: If you haven’t received an offer yet or are still completing a Bachelor Honours Degree or Master’s Degree, you can still apply, and your scholarship application will be considered conditionally based on meeting the minimum entry requirements.
