The IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) fellowship is a global initiative providing vital support to academics, researchers, and scholars whose lives and careers are threatened in their home countries. Established in 2002 by the Institute of International Education (IIE), this program is committed to safeguarding intellectual freedom and academic talent by enabling scholars to continue their research and teaching in safe environments.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in English.
- Eligible Countries: Open to scholars from all countries.
- Professional Standing: Professors, senior researchers, and public intellectuals are eligible.
- Academic Merit: Hold a PhD or equivalent degree or demonstrate extensive academic or research experience.
- Risk Status: Applicants must be facing immediate and severe threats to their lives or careers in their home countries.
- Commitment to Academic Excellence: Scholars must demonstrate superior academic accomplishments and promise.
Preference is given to candidates who:
- Show evidence of imminent threats to their safety or academic freedom.
