The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), established in 1985, is a recognized independent centre within the University of Oxford, dedicated to the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world. It plays a crucial role in fostering a bridge between the Western and Islamic worlds of learning. The Centre is known for its multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary approach, contributing significantly to the academic study of Islamic traditions, cultures, and civilizations.
The OCIS Scholarships are designed to support students from the Muslim world and Muslim communities in the UK who are pursuing full-time master's or DPhil courses at the University of Oxford. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and is intended to support those whose studies are derived from or of relevance to the Islamic tradition, or those that benefit the Muslim world.
The scholarship covers 100% of course fees and provides a grant for living costs (minimum £15,285). This is a significant opportunity for students who wish to study in the UK and return to their home countries to contribute to their communities.
