The University of Saskatchewan (USask), located in Saskatoon, Canada, is recognized for its strong research programs, innovative approaches to education, and commitment to fostering global talent. Through the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarships (UGS), USask provides competitive funding to outstanding graduate students from around the world. These scholarships enable students to focus on their research and studies by covering a substantial part of their tuition and living expenses, making it easier to pursue advanced education in Canada.
Benefits
University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship provides the recipient with the following benefits:
- Master’s – $25,000/year plus tuition (2.5 yrs.)
- PhD – $30,000/year plus tuition (4 yrs.)
$5,000 travel allowance, which may be used over the life of the award.
Eligibility Criteria
- All University Graduate Scholarships (UGS) recipients must be full-time, fully-qualified students who are either continuing their program or are in the process of being admitted into a graduate degree program.
- Students must be in the first 36 months of a Master’s degree program or the first 48 months of a Doctoral degree program to apply for or hold a UGS.
- Applicants must have a minimum of 80% average as a continuing student or entrance average as a prospective student.
Application Process
(1) Complete the online application.
- A cover letter detailing the progress or prospective progress of your graduate program
- Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae
- Outline (no more than 500 words) of the proposed research program and starting date
- Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended other than the University of Saskatchewan.
(2) Three letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the student’s academic work can be sent in confidence to gradstudies.awards@usask.ca. Please ensure the referee includes the name of the scholarship and the student’s name in the first paragraph of the letter.
