Up to $5,000 to support research related to ecosystems, natural resources, and biodiversity.

The UNESCO MAB Young Scientists Awards 2025 invites young researchers from around the world to apply for this prestigious program. Applicants must be 35 years old or younger by the application deadline.
Candidates from developed countries may only be considered in exceptional cases or if collaborating with researchers from developing countries. To apply, applicants need to obtain endorsement from their country's MAB National Committee. If no committee exists, the National Commission for UNESCO will manage the selection process.
Proposals should focus on interdisciplinary research within biosphere reserves and align with the objectives of the Lima Action Plan (LAP) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Applicants must submit a summary of their previous and ongoing research. Priority will be given to studies conducted in biosphere reserves as part of the Man and the Biosphere Programme. Research projects must be completed within two years.
