Are you a young changemaker eager to make a difference? The Carnegie Young Leaders for Civic Preparedness program is your opportunity to take meaningful action and help shape a more united, resilient America. In a time of increasing division and complex societal challenges, this initiative empowers youth aged 14 to 24 to take the lead in their communities through impactful civic projects.
The program is built on a simple yet powerful idea—real change starts locally. If you believe in the power of dialogue, community engagement, and collaborative action, then this is your moment. In 2025, a total of 500 young leaders from across the United States will be selected and organized into 100 dynamic teams. Each team will design and execute a community-centered project, promoting civic engagement and positive change.
Participants will develop key civic skills—like navigating tough conversations, working across differences, and leading with empathy—to become catalysts for a stronger, more inclusive society.
Thanks to a $2.05 million grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, this nationwide initiative builds upon a successful pilot program and aims to significantly grow the number of empowered young leaders across the country.
