Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, it’s essential to ensure you meet both general and region-specific eligibility requirements.

General Requirements (All Regions)

  • Applicants must remain full-time PhD students for the entire duration of the fellowship. Otherwise, the award will be revoked.

  • Google employees, as well as their spouses, children, or household members, are not eligible.

  • Students who are already receiving similar fellowships from industry partners are not eligible. However, funding from government or non-profit sources is permitted.

  • Previous recipients of the Google PhD Fellowship cannot reapply.
